2. Are the decking kits easy to assemble for beginners? Yes, our decking kits are designed for straightforward assembly, even for those with minimal DIY experience. The timber framing is pre-cut to length, pre-drilled, and includes joist hangers, making the setup quick and simple.
3. What tools do I need to install the decking kit? You only need a few basic tools, including a battery drill, hand saw, and tape measure, to install our decking kits. The kit provides all other necessary hardware, including screws, joist hangers, and ground anchors.
4. How durable are the decking materials? Our decking boards and framing are made from high-quality, pressure-treated timber designed to resist rot and decay. The timber is treated with Tanalith, giving it a long lifespan and ensuring it withstands outdoor conditions.
5. Does the kit come with any protective features? Yes, each kit includes weed control fabric, which helps prevent weed growth underneath the decking. The kit also includes green 60mm decking screws, joist screws, plastic fixing pegs, and ground anchors to secure the deck safely and ensure stability.
6. How should I maintain my timber decking? Regular maintenance is key. Clean the decking regularly with a mild detergent and a soft brush, inspect for any damage, and apply a protective finish, such as oil, stain, or sealant, as recommended by the manufacturer.
7. Can I customise the decking colour? Yes! Timber decking can be stained or painted to match your outdoor décor or personal taste. We recommend using a wood stain or paint designed for outdoor use to enhance both appearance and durability.
8. Are the decking kits environmentally friendly? Yes, our decking kits are made from timber, a renewable resource, making them a sustainable option. Timber decking is also a lower carbon footprint choice compared to concrete or stone alternatives.

10. Can I use heavy furniture or planters on the decking? While our decking kits are built to be sturdy, it’s best to move heavy furniture or planters occasionally to prevent uneven pressure points. This helps maintain the decking's structure and appearance over time.
11. What are the main benefits of installing a decking kit in my garden? Decking kits provide a versatile, attractive, and cost-effective way to enhance your outdoor space. They add warmth and natural appeal, creating an inviting area perfect for entertaining, relaxing, or enjoying family meals outdoors.

13. Why choose timber decking over a traditional patio? Timber decking offers a natural look that many find more aesthetically pleasing than concrete or stone. It’s generally easier to install, more comfortable underfoot, and can be stained or treated to complement your garden’s style, making it a flexible choice.
14. Do decking kits require any DIY experience? Decking kits are often designed for easy assembly and can be installed with basic tools like a drill, hand saw, and tape measure. Many kits are pre-cut and pre-drilled, making them ideal for DIY enthusiasts as well as beginners looking for a manageable project.
15. How durable is timber decking for outdoor use? High-quality timber decking, especially when pressure-treated, is very durable and can last for many years. Treated timber is resistant to rot, decay, and insects, ensuring it withstands the UK’s wet and changing weather conditions.
16. What maintenance is required for timber decking? Regular cleaning and the occasional application of a wood treatment, such as oil or sealant, will help keep your decking in top condition. A mild detergent and a soft brush are generally all you need for regular cleaning, while protective treatments can enhance durability over time.
17. Can decking add value to my home? Yes, a well-maintained decking area can add value to your home by enhancing the outdoor living space, which is appealing to potential buyers. Decking provides a cost-effective way to create an inviting garden space without the extensive groundwork required for a patio.
18. Is decking environmentally friendly? Timber decking is a sustainable choice, as it is made from renewable materials. Many timber suppliers source from responsibly managed forests, and using timber decking produces a smaller carbon footprint compared to concrete or stone.
19. What is the best way to keep my decking looking its best year-round? Aside from regular cleaning, trim back any plants or trees close to the decking to allow it to dry properly after rain. This prevents moisture build-up, which can lead to rot. Applying a weather-resistant sealant annually will also keep your decking looking fresh and protected.
20. Can decking be used for purposes other than just patios? Absolutely! Decking is versatile and can be used to create pathways, elevated garden features, or steps within your garden. Some people even use decking kits to build raised garden beds or frame specific garden areas, making decking a flexible option for any outdoor project.
